August 3, 2011 meeting of WWPC at the Phipps Center for the Arts

The August meeting was conducted by Mike Waterman. Twelve members present and one visitor. There were 27 images – 25 digital and 2 prints. Judges were Mike, Mary and Rudy.

Elections: Elections for officers will happen in November. Please consider holding a position in the club. Positions include President, Treasurer, Secretary, Tutorial Coordinator and Salon Coordinator

Member Activity: Mary announced that several of her images were selected to be displayed with the Healing Arts at the Hudson Hospital. A reception will be held on August 5 from 6-8 p.m.

Garden Club Calendar: Terry announced that several WWPC members’ images were selected for the 2012 Garden Club calendar. One of Jeff’s images was selected for the cover. Congratulations to all who participated.

Photo Opportunities: Minnesota State Fair begins August 25. St. Croix Triathlon will take place on September 3 and 4 at Lakefront Park in Hudson.

New projector: The projector still remains an issue.

UPCOMING:

We are planning another photo walk for September 21 in lieu of a tutorial. There seems to be interest in visiting Stillwater. More details are to come.

NEXT MEETING: September 7 at 7pm -- Special topic is wild mammals: Images will depict mammals in the wild. Images of confined or restrained animals are not eligible. Images of human beings are not eligible (no matter how wild they are.)

We are looking for suggestions for special topics for 2012.
